One pat of your kitchen that you will essentially use all of the time are your countertops. Your countertops are used for cutting, mixing, preparing food, and so much more. Because of this, it is important that they look and function how you'd like them to. Here are three great ways to customize your kitchen countertops.
Add A Wood Block
If you know that you will be doing a lot of cutting on your countertops, and you want to have a cutting board that is essentially out all of the time, then you can have a wooden block installed as part of your countertops. This wooden block will be sealed, right along with the rest of your cabinets, and the edges of it will be cut to match the rest of your countertops material as well. This gives you a cutting board that you can use all of the time, and you don't have to worry about the wood warping, scratching, or otherwise becoming ruining because it was treated beforehand.
Add A Backsplash
If you love your countertops, but you feel they are missing something, then you may want to add a backsplash to them. The backsplash will go from the top of the countertops to the base of your hanging cabinets. When it comes to choosing your backsplash material, you have some great options. The most often used material is tile, but then the tile can be cut and put down however you'd like. Some people go with traditional subway tiles, while others choose to go with a smaller cut of blended colors, such as white, gray, and black. The backsplash does an excellent job of tying everything together and it also adds another level of beauty and personalization to your kitchen.
Add Rounded Edges
One aspect of your countertops that many people don't think about customizing, are the edges of your countertops. The edges of your countertops can either be kept square, or you can round them. Both look good, but there are a few aspects to rounded countertops that are very beneficial. For one thing, they are much safer if you have small children who could potentially run into your countertops. They also give your countertops a softer look which is timeless and beautiful.
When it comes to customizing your cabinets, you have a lot of awesome options. You can choose to add a wood block as a cutting board, you can add a fun backsplash to tie things together, or you can add some rounded edges to your countertop.Share

Hello, my name is Ginny Tillerson. Welcome to my site. I am here to talk about the use of reclaimed wood in construction projects. Reclaimed wood has a beautiful finish that is difficult to recreate using new materials. Every project created with the reclaimed materials has a unique look and feel. On this site, I will explore the various ways contractors use reclaimed wood for their projects. I will also talk about the tools and practices used to build new creations from reclaimed hardwood materials. Please come by my website on a regular basis to learn about this impressive material. Thanks.
